Thousands gathered this past weekend for the Krewe of Centaur parade, featuring Laine Hardy as the Grand Marshal. The parade returned after a break in 2021, due to COVID-19, and negotiations with the City of Shreveport.

The Shreveport Police Department reported no major incidents and only one arrest during the parade.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police and the City Marshal’s Office worked together as a team to provide security for the event. SPD’s auxiliary officers played a vital role in providing support to law enforcement agencies. The same group will staff the Krewe of Gemini parade on Saturday, February 26.

The Department of Public Works deployed five garbage trucks to barricade major roadways. This measure was used to offsets costs for additional personnel.
