Stage Center’s School of Performing Arts (SoPA) proudly announces their production of the new children’s musical, We Are Monsters. The production will open June 23, 2022 for a four-performance run at Stage Center on the campus of Grace Community. The musical is the 2013 winner of the Children’s Musical Theatre Festival in New York City.
Featuring direction from our Director of Education, Liesl Cruz, and choreography by recent SoPA graduates Cade Ostermeyer and Selena Simmons, We Are Monsters is a hilarious new musical that follows human kids into a monster cabaret filled with quirky monster characters. The adventurous humans uncover vegetarian vampires and rock n’ roll werewolves, gradually realizing there may be more to these monsters than meets the eye! Most importantly these monsters and kids discover the importance of friendship and celebrating in the attributes that make each of us different and unique.
Featured in the 33-member cast will be Bax Berge, Gabby Berge, Aubrey Bohn, Charley Booth, Luna Bruner, Ella Cooper, Daniela DeAlba, Mariana DeAlba, Johanna Harris, Riley Horn, Eva Kleinpeter, Eva Lamarand, Hannah Lee, Savannah Lee, Tinley Lyles, Ava Maranto, Rylan Maranto, Morgan Meyer, Colin McClenahan, James McClenahan, Kayliana Newman, Millie Oakes, Reide Oakes, Harper Phillips, Piper Rippetoe, Daisy Russell, Ava Smith, Lacee Smith, Emma Stevens, Madelyn Theriac, Audrey Wages, Cooper Wallace, and Rachel Williams.
Performances will take place at Grace Community, located at 9400 Ellerbe Rd in Shreveport, Louisiana. You can catch the show at 6pm on Fri, June 24, 2pm and 6pm on Sat, June 25, and at 2pm on Sun, June 26. Tickets are $15 per seat.
