Stage Center (SC) & their School of Performing Arts (SoPA) has announced the next productions of their 12th Season, DreamWorks’ Madagascar JR., and Disney’s The Aristocats Kids, the performance components of our For Kids By Kids Summer Camp Adventures. Themed “Backlot to Broadway” the 2023 season features productions made famous by their motion picture counterparts. Each production will have two public performances beginning on July 28, 2023 at Marjorie Lyons Playhouse on the Centenary College Campus. Tickets go on sale Monday, July 10 online at StageCenterLA.com or call/text (318) 218-9978.

Modeled after the Junior Theater Festival Experience, their FKBK Camps are designed to blend their skills based and performance classes. Not only do students work on a JR. (1hr) or Kids (30min) length production (minus the technical elements) they also receive intensives in acting, singing, and dancing at camp. With only the tools of the actor (imagination, body, voice) their camp productions are performed in the great tradition of Shakespeare’s Old Globe, using nothing but a bare stage, simple lighting, and teamwork to effectively tell a great story.

Both productions are directed by SoPA Director of Education, Liesl Cruz, with co-direction by Lauren Treme, choreography by Sarah Lord Holoubek, and musical direction by Eddie Carney.

Starring 74 local K-12th graders, the productions feature VEDA ADAMS, KATE ALLEN, AUBREY MAE AUSTIN, RYAN BAMBURG, ZOÉ BROWN, EVELINE COOK, ELLA COOPER, CHARLOTTE CRAIG, GENEVIEVE CRUZ, PETER CRUZ, NEVAEH DUNCAN, CHARLOTTE DYMOND, FAITH EASTWOOD, RAY EVANS, REESE EZERNACK, CHIARALOU GARRETT, FORD GILLEN, LANDRY GLEASON, JOHN HUNTER GREGORY, MAY HARRIS, EZRA HOUSTON, JETT HUDSON, JA’SIAH JACKSON, CASHLYNN JEFFERSON, AUDREY JONES, EMERSON JONES, ANNA KELLEY, BERKLEY KETCHUM, SOPHIE KETCHUM, CLAIRE KEVIL, EMILIA KLEINPETER, JACE KNOX, BRIDGER LEE, HANNAH LEE, CAROLINE LERCHIE, TINLEY LYLES, ELLIE MACDANIELS, ZOE MACDANIELS, MILES MAINIERO, VIOLET MEDLIN, MORGAN MEYER, OLIVIA MITCHELL, VERA MOORE, EDEN MOORE, WILLIAM MURRAY, AINSLEY MCINNIS, KASYN NAVARRE, KENNADIE NEWMAN, KAYLIANA NEWMAN, MILLIE OAKES, MARY BETH OWEN, MADELYN PARY, EVANGELINE PERRERO, KATHRYN PETET, ADDISON PHARR, EVERLY POWELL, AVERY QUINN, MARVEDY REYNOLDS, EVA SALTER, SIBLEY SERIO, ETHAN SITTON, EMMA STEVENS, ELISE STEWART, ROSIE TREME, DAISY TREME, EMERY TREME, AUDREY TREME, AUDREY CLAIRE WAGES, COOPER WALLACE, ELLIE WALLACE, RACHEL WILLIAMS, ANNA-KATE WORF, LIAM YOUNG, RUSTYN YURDAGUL.
