Stage Center’s School of Performing Arts (SoPA) proudly announces their production of the smash-hit Broadway musical, DreamWorks’ Shrek The Musical (Junior Edition). The new production will open December 1, 2022 for a five-performance run at Marjorie Lyons Playhouse on the Centenary College Campus. Tickets go on sale Monday, November 14. You can purchase tickets online at StageCenterLA.com or call/text (318) 218-9978.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori, and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears. “Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek….” And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek. Direction by Jared Watson; Musical direction by Liesl Cruz; Choreography by Kaitlyn Brown.

Featured in the 60-member cast of 3rd-12th graders will be CAROLANNE ADAMS, EMMA ALEXANDER, RAINE ARSENAULT, SHAYANNA BEATTY, NATE BOKENFOHR, CHARLEY BOOTH, ANNASYN BURLISON, EMMA BURNEY, ELLA COOPER, HANNAH GRACE COTTON, PETER CRUZ, CONNOR DONAHOE, NICHOLE DONAHOE, ADDISON DOWLING, NEVAEH DUNCAN, CHARLOTTE DYMOND, DARION ELIE, RAE EVANS, MAY HARRIS, JETT HUDSON, EMERSON JONES, CLAIRE KEVIL, MIA KIIHNL, EVA KLEINPETER, RIYA KOTICHA, MALAKI KOURY, EVA LAMARAND, CAROLINE LERCHIE, LAYLA LEWING, CATHERINE LIBRO, MILES MAINIERO, AVA MARANTO, McKENNA MARANTO, DHANITY McADAMS, COLIN McCLENAHAN, JIMMY McCLENAHAN, AINSLEY McINNIS, VIOLET MEDLIN, MORGAN MEYER, KAYLIANA NEWMAN, MILLIE OAKES, MARY BETH OWEN, CHRISTIAN PERKINS, EVERLY POWELL, AVERY QUINN, SOPHIE REEME, ELIZABETH SHOUP, JOHN BRIAN SHOUP, AVA SMITH, LACEE SMITH, REX SOBOLAK, BELLE ST.
