An era ends as the ArkLaTex bids farewell to Adria Goins, the Emmy-nominated anchor for KSLA News 12 This Morning. Doug Warner and Jeff Castle both recently confirmed they’ve extended their contracts with KSLA.

Adria has been a member of the KSLA team since 2010, anchoring the 4:30-7 AM newscast since 2014. She also anchors the 9 AM newscasts as well as hosts her “Spending Smarter” segment.

The Shreveport-Bossier community has frequently shown their appreciation for Goins’ hard work. She was named as one of the Young Professional Initiatives’ 40 Under Forty recipients in 2017. She was also crowned the champion of Dancing for the Cure, a local fundraiser that helps raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

If she’s not on your screen, she’s often chasing her two kids or coaching a youth soccer team. She plays in several sports leagues as well. Her passion and dedication for fitness and health is evident through her many charitable races and contributions.

Goins shared that she plans to move back closer to her family and will soon be joining KFOR, Oklahoma City’s NBC station.

“We will be only hours away from Grandma and Donnie Pa and Gramps and Granny B, people who my children need to learn from, grow from, and love on- as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins,” she shared on her Facebook page. “All my family, all my loves, all people who will influence my children in a positive way daily now.”

The decision was not an easy one for her. “Please know that this was hard. Excruciatingly hard. To walk away from a community I love so deeply, so unconditionally. You’ve made me who I am today,” she wrote.

Her last day at KSLA will be May 18th. Over the next few weeks Adria will be sharing some of her most precious moments on air during her time in the ArkLaTex.

“I want you to see an insight into how much I love you and love my KSLA family,” she signed off. “I LOVE you ArkLaTex. Don’t EVER forget that.”

We love you too, Adria. You will be greatly missed. Thank you for 12 years of keeping us up to date on happenings in the ArkLaTex!
