Has Petito’s found a new home?

If the word on the street is correct, Pepito’s and Co. Grill and Cantina has found a new home.

Pepito’s, formerly located at 4015 Fern Ave, abruptly closed January 23 of this year. He shared the following announcement on his Instagram:

As of Jan. 23, 2022, I am no longer affiliated with Pepito’s & Co or Shane’s Seafood Companies. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for the love and support that you have shown me, my family, and the Pepito’s staff. I have greatly enjoyed my time overseeing the operations of the restaurant, seeing my vision come to life and grow, and meeting all the wonderful people who have come through the doors. I will forever cherish those memories! You all mean so much to me and we could not have done this without you! While it saddens me immensely to leave behind the Pepito’s family and customers. I remain thankful for the love and support of this amazing community. See you all soon… And Orale Cabron!

The community instantly rallied around Pepito and eagerly awaited his next move.

Earlier today another local business announced their closure, The Bar Chord. Their last night open will be this Saturday, February 19th. They will be hosting a special event this weekend with amazing drink specials, end of the night toast, and group picture to commemorate the closing of the bar.

The owner also left an interesting tidbit though, stating that the bar’s space has already been sold and he looks forward to what’s to come next in the space.

“I can’t say here now who is involved in this endeavor but I can tell you he’s one of the kindest, friendliest, hardest working people in the business,” stated Charlie, owner of The Bar Chord. “I’m over the moon that I get to pass the torch to someone as amazing as him. There’s literally no one more deserving of a second opportunity and I wish him all the luck and success in the world.”

Rumor is this will be Pepito’s new restaurant location, located at 5815 Youree Drive. Reportedly, the Trejos at this location will be closing Saturday as well. The wait staff at the restaurant confirmed the rumors. The Trejo’s on Mansfield is also closing and being reopened as a Chick Fil A restaurant in South Shreveport. The former Pepito’s location on Fern Ave has been closed.

Only time will tell if the rumors are true, but we look forward to seeing Pepito’s live and well again in a new location soon, whether here or somewhere else.

We’ll update this article should we receive any additional information.
