CORK XVI: A Red River Revel Wine Event, presented by Buff City Soap and Sun Tan City, is set for April 2nd, 2022, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the upper pavilion of Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana. The annual event showcases over 90 wines, bite-size food portions from 10 local restauranteurs, live music by Dead Reckoning String Band, dozens of raffle and silent auction items, vendor booths from Buff City Soap, jeweler Kendra Scott, Revel artist Lori Drennan, and a special pop-up package store by Thrifty Liquor.
The annual event attracts over 1,000 wine enthusiasts and socialites to Festival Plaza for an afternoon of wine, music, art, and food; but the star of the event is the wine. The 2022 event will feature 22 wine booths pouring 90+ wine varieties including reds, whites, sparkling, sweets, and rosés. Republic National Distributing Company, Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits, and Eagle Distributing provide the wine as well as the staff to share knowledge about each brand and type. Three more local restaurants have been added to the event to bring the total participating to ten. CORK XVI restaurants include: Mi Meza Latin Cuisine, Newk’s Eatery, Cranked Up Confections, Port City BBQ, Line Ave Pie & Brew Co., Smallcakes Shreveport, RNL Cookery, Dillas Quesadillas, Ralph & Kacoos, and We Olive Wine Bar.
Music entertainment will be provided by Dead Reckoning String Band. Hailing from the bayous of Ouachita Parish, Dead Reckoning String Band has burst into the regional music scene whose Louisiana roots music sound comes with the disclaimer “may cause involuntary hootin’ & hollerin’.” In addition to live music, a score of raffle items will be available including jewelry by Kendra Scott, gift cards to presenting sponsors Buff City Soap and Sun Tan City, local restaurant gift card package, a Cuban Liquor package, and the wildly popular “mystery mixed case of wine”. Raffle tickets are $10 each and may be purchased with cash or card on site during the event.
Presenting sponsor Buff City Soap will have a booth on location offering their excellent hand-crafted, plant-based bath and body products. Long time artist at the Red River Revel, Lori Drennan, will be the CORK XVI featured artist and have selections of her wine and bourbon-themed paintings for sale. Three very special Lori Drennan wine-inspired paintings will also be offered at the event via silent auction. Three beautiful vehicles will be on display courtesy of Morgan Automotive, and Thrifty Liquor will be once again providing their special pop-up store that allows attendees to purchase bottles of their favorite wine tastings.
