The joint teams of Looosiana Seafood Market, Whisk Dessert Bar and Drake Catering are proud to announce their merger and release of their new unified entity, Morvant Hospitality Group. Josh Morvant, owner of Looosiana Seafood and principal investor of the new venture, sees the opportunity as a new way to bring hospitality to Shreveport-Bossier. “I am over the top excited to see where a new group of minds can bring this business to Shreveport-Bossier. We’re looking forward to sharing a new level of creativity and drive,” said Morvant.

Chef Blake Jackson, founder of Whisk & Drake, is excited about the opportunity this merger brings to both him and his companies. “I’m thrilled to jump in and really bring my culinary touch to all of the group’s entities, both old and young! A new set of eyes on any business helps guide new ideas and growth. The team we’ve put together is not only well versed in the restaurant biz, but full of energy and creativity. MHG has so much potential and I’m glad to be on board.” Jackson will serve as the driving force for culinary and creative for the group.

Alongside Jackson and Morvant are the team at Single Source Business Solutions; beloved hospitality front man Bob Thames, and a restaurant guru with the numbers to prove it, CPA Daniel Sant. Thames brings a well known face and a brain for strategizing a good time, a perfect fit for the CEO of the group. “I love Shreveport-Bossier! I want this to be the place where my daughters grow up and start their own businesses. I want to share my passion for the hospitality world with them,” says Thames. “Forming Morvant Hospitality Group allows us to create memories through food and drink. We look forward to elevating and celebrating. Cheers!”

Sant echoed Thames’ excitement about the group forming: “We’ve got some really strong brands that are established in our area joining under one roof. I’m pumped to see the impact we can have in our business community!” Sant’s role as CFO will help steer the group as they continue expanding in 2023 and beyond. The new entity looks to acquire 1-2 additional businesses by the end of 2023.

Looosiana Seafood Market remains open Tuesday through Saturday at 9220 Wallace Lake Rd, as Whisk continues operation at 724 Azalea Dr. from Wednesday to Saturday. Drake Catering will continue servicing all of North Louisiana and East Texas, for events from 10 to 10,000.
