The City of Shreveport is partnering with Shreveport Green to host the 4th Love Shreveport Citywide Cleanup on Saturday, April 23. Teams can start registering at www.shreveportla.gov.
“Collaboration is vital for us to be successful in cleaning up our city,” said Mayor Adrian Perkins. “We will continue working with key stakeholders and growing partnerships between private and public entities. We look forward to seeing grassroots organizations join us in this effort.”
More than 1,000 community members participated in the first Citywide Cleanup in 2019. All areas of the city have been covered during this initiative, including Allendale, Caddo Heights, Clyde Fant Parkway, Highland, Dr. Martin Luther King, Pierre Avenue, Pines Road, Shreveport Barksdale Highway, Southern Hills and Wallace Lake Road.
“Citywide cleanups give everyone an opportunity to participate in a do-good, feel-good project,” said Donna Curtis, Executive Director of Shreveport Green. “Every citizen is impacted by litter; this is your opportunity to make a difference. We keep setting
participation records for our cleanups – I hope this April is no different! ” Shreveport is joining Keep Louisiana Beautiful in a statewide effort to bring awareness to the littering problem and its negative impacts on Louisiana. Love the Boot Week is April 18-24, 2022 and the goal is for citizens to come together to participate in cleanup and beautification events.
