Right down Youree Drive is one of Shreveport’s best kept secrets, The Cajun Asian Restaurant! The restaurant is a fusion of both Cajun and Asian cuisine that makes for a unique and delicious dining experience.
They are located inside the Relay Station on LA Highway 1. The interior decor is an eclectic mix of styles featuring an alligator with a rice hat, and strong wooden accents.
After sitting down I was greeted with a friendly face of one of the waitresses. Despite the sign on the front door asking for grace due to a staff shortage, I would have never known. She was extremely amiable, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond in regards to service!
I started with an appetizer called a Jambalaya Egg Roll. With a fusion of flavors, similar to the restaurant’s name, I surmised it would be a great choice to start. I was not let down. The soft jambalaya rice inside was full of flavor and the gratifying crunch of the egg roll wrap gave them the perfect texture! The signature sauce you’re given to dip them in just adds the “icing on the cake!”
For my main entree I ordered the chicken lo mein and added beef. The house-made sauce used to cook the noodles is absolutely divine and the portions are massive! I left with a full stomach and enough food for a meal the next day!
I can’t wait to go back and try something new! They also serve pho bowls, banh mi, cajun bowls, poboys, fried rice plates, fried protein plates, and more.
The Cajun Asian Restaurant is located at 10281 LA-1 in Shreveport. You can order by calling (318) 797-1373 or by visiting them online by clicking here.
