On November 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM, Shreveport Little Theatre’s Artistic Director and the Production Committee of the Board of Directors will host a Director’s Interest Meeting for individuals interested in directing a musical or play for the theatre’s upcoming 104th season. The meeting is open to all, including past, present, and potential directors, and attendance is strongly encouraged.
This annual event will provide an opportunity for interested directors to learn about the theatre’s production structure, policies, procedures, and the expectations for directors at the historic Shreveport Little Theatre. Although the shows for the 104th season have not yet been selected, the meeting will offer valuable insight into the theater’s operational processes.
The Shreveport Little Theatre, located at 812 Margaret Place, just outside downtown Shreveport, invites all participants to take part in discussions about the audition process, assembling production staff, and more. The meeting will include a tour of the theater, followed by a Q&A session. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by completing a Google Form, and any questions can be directed to the Artistic Director at artisticdirector@sltacademy.org.
Currently celebrating its 103rd consecutive season in 2024-2025, Shreveport Little Theatre is one of the oldest continuously producing community theatres in the United States. Since its founding in 1922, the theatre has staged performances through the Great Depression, World War II, and even two fires. Its first production was held in the City Hall Auditorium in 1922, with later performances staged in venues like the Jewish Synagogue and the Grand Opera House before the theatre opened its current home on Margaret Place in 1927.
Shreveport Little Theatre remains dedicated to enriching lives through the performing arts, with a strong focus on volunteerism guided by professional artists, as well as a commitment to educational programming through its Academy.
