God’s Country Resort announced they have sold to the Blue Metric Group out of Nashville, TN. Blue Metric Group, which owns 23 campgrounds across the United States, is thrilled to enhance and expand God’s Country Resort. In addition to the resort, they have also acquired owner Danny Lawler’s auction property, their new home, and the 32 acres surrounding it for immediate expansion.

As part of their expansion, Blue Metric Group plans to bring log cabins from Disney World’s Fort Wilderness Resort in Orlando to the location. They are also converting the 16,000-square-foot auction building into a boat and RV storage facility.

With the announcement of the $23 million Mountain Bike Park, owned and operated by the Red River Waterway Commission and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, connecting to the East Campus, the new owners have big plans to add more cabins and RV sites. They are even considering building a multi-story lodge-style hotel at the highest point, offering spectacular views overlooking the Soda Lake Wildlife Management Area.

“While we have loved operating the resort and making friends with all of our guests, this allows Jacky and I an opportunity to be out of debt, put some money in our retirement accounts, and devote my time to our ever-growing nationwide auction business and spend more time with our children and grandchildren,” Lawler shared via a Facebook post. “We won’t be going far and plan to visit as guests regularly.”

All of the campground’s employees will remain at God’s Country, while their auction employees will transition with them within the next 60 days.

Lawler invites visitors to meet the new general manager, Jason Smith, who arrived onsite last week. Jason is a former U.S. Marine with extensive campground management experience. Trish will continue to serve as the Front Desk/Hospitality/Housekeeping manager, ensuring guests are in great hands.

God’s Country Resort includes luxury RV sites, teepees with heat/air, luxury log cabins, conestoga wagons with heat/air, swimming pool, 2 disc golf courses, 2 dog parks, playground, huge game with pool tables and children’s rides, duck boat rental, golf cart rentals, hiking trails and more.

The West Campground is located at 7781 Highway 1 North and the East Campground is located at 7050 Soda Lake Drive, both in Shreveport, Louisiana. You can learn more by visiting them online at www.godscountryresort.com or following them on Facebook.
