Shreveport-Bossier bids farewell to Biskie Duncan

Biskie Duncan - KSLA News 12

After 11 years of laughter, storytelling, community connection, and early-morning coffee, Biskie Duncan is saying goodbye to KSLA News 12—and to the place she’s proudly called home. Her last day on air was Friday, May 16.

Since arriving in Shreveport-Bossier in 2014 with her husband Josh, who was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base, Biskie has become a constant presence in local homes and hearts. From her early radio days on The River 957—where she worked every shift and served as program director—to her time moonlighting as Lady B on 98 Rocks, Biskie’s voice and energy became a part of the daily rhythm of the community.

She brought that same spirit to television, where she hosted and helped grow Loving Living Local, a lifestyle show that spotlighted the people, places, and causes that make this area so unique. Whether she was highlighting a nonprofit, emceeing a fundraiser, or simply making you smile from your morning couch, Biskie has always made it personal—and unforgettable.

A passionate advocate for animals, a fierce supporter of local charities, and a proud member of the Alzheimer’s Association’s local chapter, Biskie’s commitment to giving back has never wavered. Her service and spirit even earned her a spot as a 40 Under Forty nominee in 2023.

But now, it’s time for a new chapter. The Duncan family is heading to Omaha, Nebraska, following new military orders—and while the move is exciting, it’s anything but easy.

“We’ve tumbled out of bed and stumbled to the kitchen, poured cups of ambition together for 11 years,” Biskie shared via her Facebook page. “But it’s time to find that ambition in a new space.”

As she reflects on her time here, Biskie is filled with gratitude—for the car shows and remotes, the cooking segments that sometimes went sideways, and every viewer who tuned in during the early mornings and late nights.

“Every interview, every story, every hello at events, it hasn’t been forgotten or gone unnoticed,” she said. “That support is what dragged me out of bed on the hard days and kept me going.”

She adds, “I’ve been lucky to see the best that Shreveport-Bossier has to offer, and it’s not the food, it’s not the venues—it’s YOU.”

As she signs off for the last time, Biskie leaves us with the words of her patron saint, Dolly Parton:
“I wish you joy, and happiness. But above all of this I wish you love. And I will always love you.”

Thank you, Biskie—for your heart, your hustle, and your humor. Omaha may be gaining a new neighbor, but Shreveport-Bossier will always have your love—and you will always have ours.
