Paulette Freeman, Executive Director of The Bridge Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center, has announced her resignation, effective March 7, 2025. After a distinguished 45-year career in executive management, business development, office administration, and sales & marketing, Freeman plans to retire. Her decision also coincides with her husband, the Rev. Dr. Jim Freeman, accepting a new pastoral call at First Presbyterian Church in Batesville, Arkansas.

“It is with mixed emotions that we receive this news,” said Bridget Lyman, President of The Bridge Board of Directors. “Paulette’s leadership has been instrumental in the transformation of The Bridge, from its renaming and rebranding to becoming a cornerstone nonprofit in Northwest Louisiana. Her impact on our organization and the local community is immeasurable. We will greatly miss her, and we wish her and Dr. Freeman all the best in their new chapter in Arkansas.”

During her tenure, Freeman guided The Bridge through a period of significant growth, advancing its mission to provide essential support, education, and resources for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Under her leadership, the organization became a trusted resource in the community, making strides in outreach and advocacy.

In light of Freeman’s departure, Robert Smith, former Board President of The Bridge, has been named Acting Director. Smith will oversee the continued operations and services The Bridge provides until a permanent successor is appointed.

Freeman expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve The Bridge: “My time with The Bridge has been deeply fulfilling, and it has been a true honor to support our community members impacted by this devastating disease. The strides we’ve made together over the past four years—thanks to the unwavering dedication of our staff, board members, volunteers, and generous donors—have been remarkable. I’m confident that The Bridge will continue to thrive and expand its impact in the years ahead.”

A reception for Paulette is scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, from 1:30 until 3:00pm at The Bridge Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center located at 851 Olive Street. All are welcome to attend.
