Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has secured a 30-year lease agreement with the city of Shreveport, Louisiana, for the operation of G-Unit Studios at the Stageworks of Louisiana facility. The lease includes a 15-year renewal option and stipulates a monthly rent of $200, with G-Unit Films & Television Louisiana LLC assuming responsibility for maintenance and operational costs.
Jackson personally appeared before the Shreveport City Council during their meeting on March 25, 2025, to address the ordinance and his vision. The Shreveport City Council unanimously approved the lease agreement, highlighting the city’s support for Jackson’s investment and vision for the community.
The ordinance has been on the council’s agenda since May 2024 but was postponed due to ongoing negotiations between Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and the City of Shreveport.
G-Unit plans to transform a portion of the Stageworks facility into a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue. The venue is expected to host a variety of events, including amateur and professional basketball and volleyball leagues and tournaments, boxing and MMA matches, seminars, conventions, auto shows, concerts, and general business meetings. This was the last component of Jackson’s plans to begin film production in the area.
This development marks a significant expansion for G-Unit Films and Television Inc., the production company founded by Jackson in 2003. Known for producing television series such as “Power,” “Power Book II: Ghost,” and “Black Mafia Family,” G-Unit’s move into Shreveport aligns with its ongoing growth in the entertainment industry.
Jackson’s commitment to Shreveport and the establishment of G-Unit Studios are anticipated to contribute positively to the local economy and cultural landscape.
Jackson also plans to bring his hugely successful Humor & Harmony Weekend back in 2025.
