You’ve likely seen the cars lined up for blocks on Youree Drive for the popular crawfish drive-thru, Rubba Boot Crawfish Co. A second location could soon help alleviate that traffic on one of Shreveport’s busiest roads.
According to the Shreveport-Bossier Advocate, Rubba Boot owner Barret Ross Olivier is opening a new Rubba Boot location on Mansfield Road.
Rubba Boot’s social media teased a second location the day before news of the second location broke. “Finna jam up Mansfield Rd. in Feb. with that otha Rubba Boot,” the team shared on their Facebook page.
Olivier plans to have the second location open for the beginning of crawfish season on Jan. 25, 2025, the Shreveport-Bossier Advocate added.
The Future of Smitty’s Pizza
The new location will replace Smitty’s Pizza at 9375 Mansfield Road. After their current owner sold the building, Smitty’s Pizza will relocate to a yet-to-be-determined location closer to the middle of Shreveport. They plan to announce their new location once it has been confirmed.
“While we understand our landlord wanting to sell, the relocation will still be bittersweet for all of us at Smitty’s as I am sure for many of you,” Shelly and LeeAnne shared on Facebook. “Afterall, pizza has been at this location for over 40 years!”
“Southern Hills has been very kind to us and we will miss it and everyone from that area that has supported us. We also hope that they will still come visit us at our new location,” the post continued.
The owners confirmed that aside from a new location, Smitty’s Pizza will remain committed to cooking up the best brick oven cooked pizzas in town.
The owner’s did share their support of Olivier and Rubba Boot, stating, “to the new business coming in to our current location, we wish you the best. We hope that everyone will support it as the local community did us. After all, local supporting local is the reason Smitty’s Pizza is in business and will continue to be, just at a different location.”
Rubba Boot’s Facebook page encouraged patrons to support Smitty’s Pizza throughout the transition as well.
