Ono Hawaiian Grill, one of Shreveport’s culinary gems, announced the opening of its new brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shreveport, Ono Hawaiian artspace. The restaurant will be located at 708 Texas Street, the former site of Pepito XO Global Cuisine and Parish Taceaux.
When will Ono Hawaiian artspace open?
Ono Hawaiian artspace’s doors are set to open in the first week of August 2024. The restaurant is currently undergoing renovations in preparation for the grand opening.
Will they still have the food truck?
Sione Maumalanga, the owner behind Ono’s, shared that this new venture will not signal the end of their popular food truck. While the primary focus for the coming months will be on preparing the new space and refining the restaurant’s cuisine and service, plans are in place to resume the food truck operation later in the year.
Established in 2016, Ono’s has evolved over the years from a food truck and vendor at the Shreveport Farmers Market to its first location on Fern Ave. After overcoming challenges with the initial location, Sione is excited to bring authentic Hawaiian cuisine to downtown Shreveport. Sione has partnered with Gabriel Balderas, owner of El Cabo Verde and Zuzul Coastal Cuisine. With valuable lessons from past experiences and Balderas’ expertise, Sione is optimistic about this new chapter.
