Mayor Tom Arceneaux is pleased to announce the launch of the 2025 Mayor’s Summer Internship Program, offering local college students an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in municipal government. The program runs from June 2 to July 11, 2025, providing selected interns with paid, structured learning experiences that introduce them to the inner workings of local government. “We are excited to welcome a new cohort of passionate, driven students who are eager to learn about public service,” said Mayor Arceneaux. “This internship will provide them with meaningful exposure to city operations and help develop the next generation of leaders.” The six-week program is open to students who meet the following qualifications:
- Must be a resident of Shreveport, LA (priority consideration given)
- Must be at least a college sophomore or graduate student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- May be a Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 graduate
- Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, commitment to community, sense of responsibility, and academic performance
Interns will work 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and will be compensated for their participation.

- Two letters of recommendation (with contact information)
- Official college transcripts (sent directly from the institution)

Deadline for Submission
All application packets must be received by 4:00 PM on April 25, 2025. Incomplete applications or those that do not meet the eligibility criteria by the deadline will not be considered.
