The Louisiana Film Prize team, in partnership with NOVAC (New Orleans Video Access Center), a leading nonprofit dedicated to preparing Louisiana’s workforce for film industry careers, is offering a one-day, hands-on training session in Shreveport. Participants will learn the essential skills needed to excel as a Production Assistant — the gateway position for a career in film.
This PA class covers everything from set operations to industry terminology, providing participants with a strong foundation in film set dynamics. While becoming a production assistant is a great way to learn the ropes and climb the career ladder, the knowledge gained in this role is also invaluable for those in related trades like catering, hair styling, makeup, and construction who are considering moving into film. Understanding on-set expectations and language can make all the difference.
