The teaser for Caddo Lake, a chilling new thriller written and directed by Celine Held and Logan George, has been revealed. The movie is scheduled to release as a Max Original film on October 10, 2024.
Shot in 2021 under the title The Vanishings at Caddo Lake, the film stars Dylan O’Brien and Eliza Scanlen. It follows the disappearance of an 8-year-old girl, linking a series of past deaths and altering a family’s history.
Produced by M. Night Shyamalan’s Blinding Edge Pictures, the movie was filmed in the Shreveport area and boasts Caddo Lake’s scenic beauty.
The project also highlights local talent, with the sound mix supervised by Shreveport native David Forshee, who recently won a 2024 Emmy for Outstanding Sound Editing for Ripley (Netflix), further enhancing the film’s local connections.
Forshee now resides in New York but got his start in Shreveport with his debut sound mix on Chris Lyon’s short film, “Stay With Me.” That project was the first-ever surround sound mix for a Shreveport-origin production, according to Lyon. The short film was conceived, funded, shot, edited, scored, and finished here in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Shreveport, already a growing hub for film production, provided the perfect setting for the eerie atmosphere of Caddo Lake, with its unique combination of swamps, forests, and rich historical texture.
